FE Investments - Approach to Stewardship

(In reference to COBS 2.2A.5 - Disclosure of alternative investment strategy with respect to stewardship)

As defined by the UK Stewardship Code, Stewardship is the “responsible allocation, management and oversight of capital to create long-term value for clients and beneficiaries leading to sustainable benefits for the economy, the environment and society”. FEI consider the UK Stewardship Code as best practice and therefore have broadly aligned our approach to stewardship with the 2020 UK Stewardship Code. One of our core beliefs is that stewardship is essential for driving forward a responsible investment agenda and therefore we aim to do this across all our portfolios to better manage risks and create positive outcomes.

From a top-down perspective, we incorporate ESG factors as part of our investment process to responsibly allocate and manage capital on behalf of our clients. We provide our clients with information on financial and non-financial factors including ESG factors. We consider relevant guidance and information available via public bodies, where relevant, to ensure our approach and policy is in line with best practice. From a bottom-up perspective, we integrate ESG factors as part of the investment decision making process and monitor asset managers and underlying portfolio companies.
